Lake Hévíz is located in Hungary and is the largest thermal lake in the world. It is reputed to have curative effects. The fauna and flora are unique in Lake Hévíz due to the temperature and chemical composition of the water, which is slightly radioactive and contains reduced sulfuric compounds as well as oxygen in solution. Several species are to be found in this lake only in Hungary or in the world.
