Every Wednesday and Thursday will be organised folklor-show from 15th of March 2007 at 20:00 p.m. in the Mátyás pince.
The Csillagszemű folk ensemble and the famous gipsy orchestra of Sándor Lakatos entertains the guests. The performers represent the traditional Hungarian folk dance - dressed in national costume - and folk music - played by voilin and other instruments.
You can taste the flavour of renaissance time served by waiters during the night. The menu starting with Bujkó welcome drink, following by taragot lamb ragout soup and the favourit dish of king of Mátyás (cold gooseliver, duck-leg and turkey-breast,) finishing with the dessert of queen Beatrix and coffe.The menu includes the mineral water and 2 dl wine of the houses.
The folklor show takes place in the downtown next to the Elisabeth bridge in Mátyás Pince / Matthias Cellar Restaurant. The restaurant - named after the great Hungarian Renaissance ruler Mátyás - was founded at the foot of Elizabeth Bridge on the Pest side way back in 1904. It is famed far and wide for its inimitable Hungarian flavours accompanied by the finest wines of the country and Gypsy music performed by members of the Lakatos dynasty at midday and in the evening. Beautiful stained glass windows and frescoes - the work of artists Jenő Haranghy and Gyula Bozó - recount scenes from the life of King Mátyás. Waiters and waitresses serve at table dressed in period costume.
