The southern Transdanubian city of Pécs (European Capital of Culture 2010) awaits the inauguration of a huge golf and leisure centre. The 84-acre development, located close to the city, will host a golf course, hotel, apartment house, wellness- and conference centre.
The owner, Investor Property Ltd., is using its own assets and bank loans to finance the HUF 4 billion (16 million EUR) investment.
The first phase, the 18-hole golf course, will open this May and the construction of the apartment house has already started, while the building of the other facilities will begin in 2007. The leisure park will be open before 2010, and the site is proposed as one of the centres of the series of events in the European Capital of Culture programme.
